What To Do if Communication is Difficult

๐Ÿ“บ Watch the Video

If you find yourself in a situation where it is too difficult to communicate, you can still offer your care bag. If they take it, great! If they do not, then simply say, “Have a nice day,” back away, and leave. Remember, it is important to be polite, patient, and composed.

In some situations, the person might insult you, not want to talk, or not want you in their space. If that happens, bid them goodbye, get your buddy, and with awareness, walk away from that individual and move a couple of blocks away before helping someone else.

While these reactions can be discouraging, do whatever you can to avoid getting angry or reacting negatively. That’s always something you want to avoid. If this does happen, definitely don’t get down on yourself. Relocate a couple of blocks, take a rest, and take a deep breath. If you want to call it a day, do so and know that you helped a lot of people and accomplished an important task.

  • Not everyone will want a care bag.

  • You can leave your care bag a few feet away, but donโ€™t force it on anyone.

  • Remember: you are doing what you can!
