Hi, my name is Fiona, and I’m a volunteer at Bright Mind Enrichment and Schooling. As a volunteer at Bright Mind Enrichment and Schooling, giving back to the community has always been a passion of mine. So when I discovered Street Care, I knew it was a great opportunity to help the homeless and inspire others who share the same passion.

Initially, I thought my role would be similar to any other office job, but with a charitable objective. However, everything changed when I started conducting interviews with homeless individuals. As I listened to their personal stories and learned about their struggles, I realized the profound impact our efforts can have on their lives.

Unfortunately, homeless people are often subject to unfair stereotypes and misconceptions. However, through my conversations with them, I came to understand that homelessness can happen to anyone. Unexpected circumstances like the recession and the COVID-19 pandemic affect even those who never imagined facing such a situation.

By sharing these stories and conducting these interviews, I hope I could help everyone to care more about homeless individuals and motivate more people to do street outreach with less judgment, less fear, and with greater empathy.
