Day of Street Care Action in Florida… 10/24

Thanks to all who joined us on this Day of Action! Street Care’s passionate volunteers performed street outreach for homeless individuals in Jacksonville. 5 homeless people helped, too, for the entire 4.5 hour, 7 mile day. 150+ care kits shared to homeless individuals.

We met Saturday, October 24th, at 1pm. We  engaged with homeless people by sharing wellness and health tips and distributing care kits. No prior volunteering experience was necessary! All they needed to bring was a face mask (and other PPE), care kits, or just a water jug, and a positive attitude. How to make a care kit: info on this video.

Face masks were worn at all times, and strict CDC social distancing guidelines were adhered to at all times. If volunteers didn’t feel safe going on outreach, they could drop off pre-packed care kits and many did!
